Construction & Operating Principles

Digital Linear Heat Detectors

Guest Speaker:

Brenton Harris

Director of Sales

Protectowire Fire Systems

Linear heat detection has been around for over 70 years but is still relatively unknown to many in the Fire Protection Industry. During this presentation, we will delve into the construction and operating principles of digital linear heat, and feature a few of the applications where it’s most commonly used. We will also introduce a new technology, Confirmed Temperature Initiation (CTI) Series which confirms thermal activation of the detector before an alarm is initiated. If you have ever wanted to learn more about digital linear heat this is a can’t miss opportunity.

Brenton Harris is the Director of Sales at Protectowire FireSystems and a frequent speaker at industry events. One of his main focuses is to provide educational training to the fire protection community both nationally and internationally. When he is not traveling, Brenton provides technical sales support to both engineers and end end-users as well as Distributors. Prior to joining Protectowire, he spent almost 10 years in China working at both System Sensor (Honeywell) as well as a private quality control company. Brenton is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE).
